a great many extremely fertile goldfish and shubunkins, who reproduce in alarming numbers every summer, in our back garden pond

two families of Steller's Jays who live in the woods behind our house, and squawk furiously if their bird feeder isn't topped up twice daily with roasted peanuts in the shell

Henry, a Columbian red squirrel, who lives under the fish pond's pump house and is served his own bowl of peanuts every morning

Birthday:
February 19 ; Pisces

Born and educated:
Nottingham, England

Current home:
White Rock, British Columbia

Hobbies:
reading, playing the piano, antique hunting, remodeling the house, hosting Murder Mystery parties, playing with my babies – two and four-legged variety – walking the beach, and lolling in the garden doing nothing

Favorite charity:
the SPCA

If I had it all to do over again:
I'd be a professional renovator. I really love swinging a hammer, and turning a plain old box of a house into something unique and charming! And it goes without saying that I'd buy acres of land to provide a safe haven for abandoned and mistreated animals

Favorite TV shows: I'm an unapologetic Survivor, Dancing with the Stars and NBA addict

Most recent favorite movie: The Queen

Most recent live theater performance: The Producers

Favorite Romance Author: um... Catherine Spencer?! But add Judith Bowen, Anne Stuart, Debbie Macomber, and Susan Wiggs to the list, along with several others which space prevents me from naming

Most memorable night out in recent memory: being treated to court-side seats by my grandson Ryan, on my birthday, to see the Harlem Globetrotters, who stole my purse and wouldn't give it back until I'd danced with one of the team members in the middle of the stadium floor

Biggest regret:
that city by-laws restrict us from having more than two dogs. And that my grandchildren are growing up too fast.

My proudest achievement:
my children and grandchildren. Family is everything and always comes first.
